For the first time in Greece, the Museum will be introducing the public to the impressive nomadic art of Central Asia, and its highly topical aesthetic, focusing on the simple and the unpretentious. Unique rugs, originally made by Baluch and Turkmen nomads, silk ikats from Uzbekistan, as well as gold and silver jewelry with precious stones from Samarkand and Bukhara, are on display. The exhibits belong to the Sarzetakis collection, which was formed in situ, and donated to the Museum in 201. Its permanent exhibition will be held in the near future.
