The exhibition gathers, for the first time after the Italian unification, the 20 beautiful tapestries that make up the "Stories of Joseph the Jew" cycle, manufactured during the middle 16th century by the orders of Cosimo I de' Medici on the cartons prepared by Agnolo Bronzino, Jacopo Pontormo and Francesco Salviati.
The exhibition is organised by the Presidency of the Republic in partnership with MIBACT, the municipalities of Florence and Milan, and Expo 2015.
After Rome, where it will be on show from February to April 2015, the exhibition will be moved to the Royal Palace in Milan, where it will be exhibited in concomitance with the opening of Expo 2015. The exhibition will reach its final destination, Palazzo Vecchio at Florence, where it will be open to the public from September 2015 to February 2016.
