Jasmine Sartor, the conservator of Gallery Moshe Tabibnia will discuss about her experiences with the use of the saponins as a surfactant in the wet cleaning of textiles.
Saponins derived from the bark, roots and fruit have been commonly used over the centuries in different cultures. Saponin has come up in recent discussions as a green alternative to chemically made surfactants in textile conservation.

The session will be moderated by the Textiles Working Group Assistant Coordinator Deepshikha Kalsi from The Textile Conservation Studio in New Delhi, India and Coordinator Sarah Benson from the National Museum of Sweden.
