Three Empires of Islam: Masterpieces of Ottoman, Safavid and Mughal Art from the Louvre Museum
This travelling exhibition, organized by the Decorative Arts Department at the Louvre, is one of the few events promoted by the French Museum and hosted by other institutions around the world. In this particular case, the exhibition will be first presented at the Sakip Sabanci Museum, Istanbul, from 19 February to 18 May, and then and then at Centro Cultural Bancaja, Valencia, from 8 July to 8 September.
This exhibition provides an overview of the art of the Mughal, Ottoman, and Safavid empires through the display of precious artefacts belonging to the Louvre collections. An important section is dedicated to antique carpets and textiles artefacts of the three empires.
