The unique style and magnificence of the Russian court will be captured in this display of dress and uniforms of the Tsars and their officials insofar as new light will be shed on the influences and crossovers between military uniform, court dress, European fashion and traditional Russian costumes.
The more remarkable garments on view date back to the 1720s, and include lavishly embroidered coats and elaborately patterned silk banyans from the wardrobe of Tsar Peter II.
