Drawing a parallel with the The Rediscovered Fragment exhibition showing at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, (Milan, 22 May - 12 October 2008), Moshe Tabibnia decided to run a complementary exhibition entitled Revealed Wefts (Milan, 22 May - 18 October 2008), and to put on display a number of 16th and 17th-century carpets bearing some analogy, in terms of manufacture and dating, with the exemplars on view at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum.
The aim of the curators of the exhibition held at the Moshe Tabibnia Gallery is to shed light on carpet manufactures in the 16th and 17th- centuries through the systematic display of nearly twenty historic carpets from different geographical areas, mainly Turkey, Persia, Egypt, India and China.
The exhibition title, Revealed Wefts, alludes to the unveiling of the connections between different carpet manufactures in the past epochs, and yet to the disclosure of the progresses made in the realization of the MATAM project.
