Traditional Tibetan carpets loaned by private collectors are on display at the Ethnographic Museum of the University of Zurich.
Big black and white photographs of travels in Tibet completed by Heirich Harrer 40 years ago can be found next to these handiworks used in daily life.
In conjunction with the exhibition, a conference with the initiators of the project for the comeback of production of traditional carpets knotted in Nepal has been organized; the project started in the sixties and marked the transition from pieces destined for the local market to commercial production geared to the international market.
