Knocked down onto the Carpet
Rassegna Stampa

“What is it, exactly, that makes antique carpets and textiles a kind of magic? Better not to ask this question to Moshe Tabibnia, the owner of the gallery bearing his name in Via Brera, Milan, […] and rather talk about something that can really brighten this composed gentleman’s eye: Matam, the acronym for Museum of Antique Textile Arts in Milan. The building destined to house the museum, which is scheduled to open in 2011, is the one under restoration (costing seven million euro) beside the deconsecrated church of San Carpoforo in Milan. Some renowned collectors have sponsored the challenging project […] conceived by Moshe Tabibnia, who also is the man in-charge of bringing it to completion. ‘The idea is to establish an institution that may compete with Washington’s Textile Museum. Milan deserves such a museum because the city is the most important crossroads for this kind of artefacts in the world of collecting’ […]”.
