More than a gallery, an institution

“Milan. On April 7th, the Moshe Tabibnia Gallery reopens the historical premises in Milan, Via Brera 3, after extensive restoration works, in a design to become a reference point to textile art lovers not only by virtue of its many years of activity but also for the policy that will be carried out in this facility, which has been renovated with a view to create a structure suiting the needs of an art gallery and yet of a cultural institution [...]. In fact, study and research activities will be carried out paving the way to a number of thematic exhibitions, which will be organized starting from next autumn, showcasing selected carpets, tapestries and antique textiles from internationally renowned collections as well as pieces belonging to Moshe Tabibnia’s private collection [...] (Among the exemplars on view, worthy of mention is the ‘Holbein’ carpet dating back to the second half of the fifteenth century, which is even more important than the one in the Museum of Islamic Art, Berlin; [...]. Also remarkable is the Ming floral pattern carpet, which is unique for its format and once belonged to Baroness Bismark. [...] ”.
